Parasites and Stars started out
in December 2000 as a three piece "jam" band with John Normand, Cory
Juneau, and Gabriel Guillory. Once we realized that we could get serious
with the music, we popped out about 20 originals that John had written
prior to the band. After a while, everything fell together and everyone
took part in the songwriting process.
Lineup changes led us to go
through several drummers including Cory Juneau, Jason Guillory, and now
Hunter McCoy. He's an amazing talent, and now the band sounds better than
before. Scott, the energetic former lead singer of the punk band,
Downfish, also was added to the lineup after the punk band's VH1-like
breakup.
So the lineup now

Parasites and Stars has 40 + original songs now, and we're
writing more everyday! Our sound is pretty indiscribable, but we can only
say that our genre is "fun". It's part funk, part rock, part reggae, part
ska, part punk, part swing, part alternative, part jazz. Anyways, you get
the point...and the styles vary from song to song. I guess you can say we
are musical mutts.
