Hangtough was founded by Brian Jett in 1997 with the purpose of providing a place of positive influence on the Internet for younger generations.
Brian Jett has published works and quotations in Wisdom Magazine, the "Chicken Soup For The Soul" Series of Best Selling Books, The Washington Post, Venice Magazine, holds Honorable Mention Status with the National Poetry Guild, created curriculums for the Illinois School System, has contributed to various Scholastic Newsletters from around the United States, other prose in various web-based E-Zines, and plays jazz guitar with original compositions which can be found in Real Audio and MP3 Formats and through the online "Compact Disc Data Base" (CDDB). Brian has fomented over 300 quotations that have been published internationally as well! Brian Jett's musical endeavors started off rather oddly and at age 14 wherein he was given a classical guitar and three lessons learning Rock & Roll. This clearly was not a good match and it was no coincidence that an Earl Klugh album (jazz guitarist) would be his first jazz album his mother purchased for him when he was 16 years old. After "...hours in the basement...", his love of jazz and R & B became a passion and has afforded him some unique opportunities most recently doing session work as a studio musician.
Brian has played with many fine jazz artists to include Jack McDuff (B-3 Jazz Organist) and through agents, anticipates his compositions to be performed by R & B artists in the near future.
His musical pursuits are focused on making music from poetry and it is starting to unfold very nicely. I hope you enjoy the lyrics as much as I enjoy them with Brian's R & B smoothness melodically. Brian currently writes R & B AND Country lyrics, and is getting remarkable responses to his talents.
While Brian is still the driving force behind the web site, without the help of others to include you (contributors), the site would not be as popular as it is today."--Site Administrator & Webmaster (Tanya Brigance)
