| K.O. came across this song as a result of an open call for remixes. The original was an abstract down-tempo house tune, & he thought he could add a bit more to it by taking it to new heights. He basically stripped it of all its instrumentation, only using 3 samples from the original, which changed it in every way. Then he added a strong synth architecture to toughen it up & an atmospheric background to make it trancey & ecstatic. | Hook the captain breathes new life into the juxtaposition between the electronic and pop genres. Fusing elements of trance and pop, the captain works tirelessly to create a powerful blend of sleek sounds that are both underground and accessible. A rising force in the progressive underground, Hook started his musical career immediately after spending 9 months playing Internet computer games and never leaving his house. At the time his act consisted of playing electronic music with sequencers, drum machines, and keyboards on St. Louis County buses in Missouri. the captain is currently featured on the KaZaa network in the Emerging Artists Program on the front page this month. Hook the captains well known track, ''temple,'' was itself used as the soundtrack for the broadband demo, demonstrating the new emerging artist bands feature on the Kazaa network. The captain will also be opening for Rusted Root in the VW 2002 College Tour, and will also be doing a number of shows sponsored by cornerband.com organization in the coming months. The captain can has been featured on the front page of the prestigious DC City Newspaper Arts Section. He can be found writing reviews for BPM Culture Magazine and DJmixed.com, URB, and XLR8R.
