The Seeds Of Sound benefit concert was originally going to be called the ROCK MOUNT TRASHMORE Benefit Concert, but the powers-that-be and the authorities controlling the state facilities would not let us produce it under that name, so Dave Huckins and George Koumantzelis ( its major creators ) came up with the name SEEDS OF SOUND instead. ... It was a magical event! ... This web site is built, not only in memory of that event, but to keep the spirit of giving alive that took place on that memorable day on August 18, 1991. ... All the money raised from this original event was evenly distributed among the following seven local and national ecological and environmental groups: GREENPEACE ... WALDEN WOODS PROJECT / THE ISIS FUND ... FRIENDS OF THE EARTH ... P.E.T.A. - PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS ... PRESERVE APPALACHIAN WILDERNESS / EARTH FIRST! ...
