Politic Live
As one of Edmonton’s premier hip-hop groups, Politic Live has helped redefine the standards of urban music in Edmonton. With a sound that is distinctively hip-hop and lyrics that can be appreciated by philosophers, poets, hustlers and comedians alike, Poli-Live is not only hip-hip, but unadulterated artistry.
Poli-Live’s ability to direct an audience and blow up the stage with high-energy theatrics has created a reputation of being true hip-hop entertainers. Sizzling shows with constant crowd interaction has made them a hot concert draw wherever they go. Even back when Poli-Live was known as Straight Laced, their energy defined and differentiated them.
Their performance accomplishments include opening for 112, Choclair, K-Os, Ghetto Concept, and Snoop Dogg as well as performances on A-Channel in Edmonton. Other credits of Politic Live include airplay on campus radio across Canada and rocking shows in numerous hot spots in western Canada.
But unlike many hip-hop artists out right now, Politic Live doesn’t talk loud and not say anything. Feeding hip-hop fans with lyrics that are both reflective and introspective, Poli-Live promise to deal with real issues, however commercial hip-hop becomes.
Politic Live plans to propel into the highest ranks of urban music not only in Canada, but universally. Through attempts to increase their fan base, they have begun to network nationally. Look out for the release of Politic Live’s first full-length album late 2003.
