The painting on the cover of the CD
"A Tree, Tall and Strong" is by my good friend
Sheryl Daniels. The two children in the painting are
my grandson Christopher and my granddaughter Carolyn.
The photograph on the cover of the CD
"Poetry In Motion" is of my daughter Beverly
and her three children Christopher, David and Rachel. I named the picture
"March to Sunset."

A young child looks on a tall strong tree as a role model. As the child matures and life brings forth its many lessons, the child learns that being strong is not sufficient, and perhaps that he is not as strong as he thought he might be. Then the child becomes a parent and sees in his own children the need to learn the same lessons that he has had to learn. Then he realizes that there is truly a tree, tall and strong, but it is not the one that he had imagined, but is rather our Lord and Savior, Jesus. | MP3.com CD: A Tree, Tall and Strong - buy it!

The last words that Jesus said from the cross included "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" The first century explanation for this statements appears to have been that Jesus was quoting the 22nd Psalm, one of the most popular psalms of the time. | MP3.com CD: Poetry In Motion - buy it!

While we philosophically believe in forgiving others, most of us have a few people who, from our perspectives, have committed unpardonable sins and cannot be forgiven. These thoughts are expressed in the first two quatrains of the poem. The resolution of the problem begins in the third quatrain with a play on words that I enjoyed. Listen! I'm sure you will hear what I mean. | MP3.com CD: Poetry In Motion - buy it!
