A work composed between 2000 and 2002 that was inspired by the hypnic jerks, or sleep starts, that occur during the hypnogogic state and the general mood of hypnogogic mentation. This work is self-referential in that the manipulated source material at its foundation is perpetually re-worked until the entire composition collapses under the inaccuracy of simulacratic facsimile. Source material included violin, cello, trombone, suspended bass drum, and a variety of forgotten found sounds. |
