In an already saturated Los Angeles rock scene, one group from the San Fernando Valley felt it necessary to create a sound that would separate them from the rest. Unwilling to be labeled as your typical Rock en Espaņol band, Obscuridad has created their own brand of rock that can be only be described as simply their own. With each member of the group influenced by a variety of music genres, elements of punk, metal, blues, classic and modern rock make up the core of the group's unique style of music. Undaunted by the lack of support the mainstream American rock market has towards today's Latin music acts, Obscuridad insist that their music speaks for itself and beyond the native tongue in which the lyrics are sung. Contrary to the band's name, Obscuridad (translated in English meaning "darkness") hopes not just to appeal to the local Rock en Espaņol scene, but also to enlighten a wider audience beyond our own culture.
