The Name:
* Spongeworthy got the idea for their name from an episode of Seinfeld. The
famous "Spongeworthy" episode in which Elaine Bennis realizes that her
chosen method of birth control, the contraceptive "Sponge" is being discontinued
and will no longer be sold in the U.S. There's a mad dash as she tries to locate a
source of the "sponges" and stock up before they are no longer available.
Elaine finally finds a drug store that has some of these "sponges,"
and buys all that they have. To protect her stock, Elaine suddenly becomes very
choosy about who she finds worthy of having sex with, expending one of her now most
valuable possesions. She uses the term "Spongeworthy" to describe
those lucky saps who rate high enough for her to break into the box of sponges.
