AMG Expert Review
"The psychedelic Californian label Zemira introduced guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto in 2002 with this two-track EP, but his trio has little to do with the previous productions of Vine Sweetland and company. Kaleidoscopic Reentry is pure hard bop jazz from an electric fusion perspective. Nishimoto hints at early Pat Metheny and vintage Al DiMeola with his dreamy runs over a bouncy rhythm section (bassist Aubrey Torres and drummer Joe Gilster, both quite skilled). Both the title track and "Ecliptic Yesteryears" are simple compositions, extended jams over a simple but carefully written vamp..." - François Couture, All-Music Guide
"These 2 tracks...by the Takeshi Nishimoto Entourage, produced (killer production indeed) by the psych-head Vine Sweetland and released by Zemira Productions, is not something we are used to on Stonedgods.com. The 2 songs by these Los Angeles artists are pure guitar-oriented mushroom powered (?) superrelaxing no-vocals rock-ambient (??) music. To be honest with you, I don't know what the fuck ambient music means, but I thought it could fit for this band... for sure they are relaxing, but I am afraid that if you are not into guitar-freaky stuff, you'll not be too happy with this songs. This stuff, even if produced by Vine Sweetland, is not that psychedelic and that spaced out. Anyway,...why don't try downloading one? By the way, my personal favourite one is the second track." - Alex Muraro, Stonedgods.com (The Netherlands)
