The Banjo of Death Sleeping is the latest creation of Chicago composer William Harper. Known for his innovative and startling new opera and music theater productions like Dead Birds, Crimson Cowboy, El Greco and the infamous Peyote Roadkill, his new work of dramatic music is a triptych of pieces using computer altered human voice to evoke a presence of Death and angels and once scary and humorous, respectful and taunting- music like the figures of death and angels made of sugar for the Mexican Day of the Dead.
