Daniel Crommie has been recording
his original compositions since1976 as a solo artist, with Group Du Jour,
Echo System and most recently with his progressive neo-medieval folk
band Saturnalia Trio / Quartet. Drawing from a wide palette of influences
(pop, folk, electronic, musique concrete, jazz and orchestral), Daniel Crommie
creates textural soundscapes that communicate his songs in a highly individual
yet accessible fashion. Originally a flute player, Daniel also plays synthesizers,
mandolin, recorders, dulcimers (electric & acoustic), balalaika, miscellaneous
gizmos and sound-making devises in addition to engineering and producing.
Daniel Crommie's music has been distributed and critically lauded in places
as far-flung as England, Japan and Yugoslavia and has contributed soundtrack
music to three French documentaries. The founder of New Weave (www.newweave.net) with over twenty solo
releases and numerous collaborations, Daniel Crommie continues to offer
innovative and original music to an ever-growing audience.
