Statement From Eric Horner
My current single - released by Reborn Records is "She Is A Hero". Anyone that takes the time to get to know me understands why the patriotic music is so close to my heart. When someone you love has personally experienced the price of paying the ultimate sacrifice, it really opens your eyes. My wife understands what it truly means. She lost her former husband and father of her 2 year old son Oct. 23, 1983 to the terrorist bombing in Beirut, Lebanon. This is why I will always honor the men and women that have served and continue to serve the United States Of America on my behalf. As for my song "She Is A Hero" - women that serve are often overlooked when the pats on the backs are handed out. This song was my attempt to remedy that. "She Is A Hero" was written in Feb. 2003 before the war in Iraq was started - before anyone knew the name Jessica Lynch. It pays tribute to women that serve in the Armed Forces, the space program, the Red Cross and even teachers. In April as we all watched the rescue of PFC Jessica Lynch unfold on our TV's - we received a phone call from someone in Elizabeth, WV informing us that my song was being played on radio in that area. The song was quickly adopted for Miss Lynch and we were deeply honored to get the chance to meet this gentle young lady and personally sing "She Is A Hero" to her. Any person - man OR woman that puts the uniform on and defends this country on my behalf IS a hero. Although this song was not written for Miss Lynch - we are honored that it has been adopted for her. We dedicate it to ALL women heroes.
