After graduating with honors from the Leningrad Conservatory, Olga Krylova was selected through a competition into the world-renowned symphonic orchestra of the Leningrad Philharmonic, directed by Mravinsky, (today the conductor is Temirkanov) where she worked until 1995, for over 30 years. As a concertmaster, Olga successfully performed piano, celesta and harpsichord parts. The orchestra often performed works where the piano performs a solo part: Stravinsky's "Petrushka", Shostakovich's "1st Symphony", Bartok's "Music for celesta, percussion and orchestra" and many others. The pianist was a part of the numerous orchestra tours in Europe, USA, Japan and Latin America.
Along with her work in the main orchestra, Olga was also the permanent member of the Leningrad Chamber orchestra led by Lazar Gozman. This orchestra performed without a conductor, therefore requiring tremendous preparation and rehearsal that resulted in master quality musicianship. In addition, Olga frequently performed in duet settings with violinist, David Oistrach, harpist, Veronica Dulova and many others. Quite a few recordings are available on the Melodiya label where Olga appears as a soloist, an ensemble and orchestra member. The miniatures, presented here in "consolation" where recorded in 2001.
