Barry Bond, sometimes known as Slender, started Palace Productions in
the summer of 2000 in Marietta. It started off with a simple Alesis SR-16 drum
machine and spawned out into a Protools studio.
He has been writing rap since the inception of P.Prod. After
attending his first rave and listening to the beautiful sounds of Paul
Oakenfold, he was instantly bit by the techno bug. Now his music is being
concentrated more towards progressive house, progressive trance, and remixes.
His first track "Paradise" is already in the process of being remixed with
vocals and new synth parts with the help of Shiloh. The next track just
released, "Turn It On", has a funky, hard, progressive house feel to it. New
tracks coming soon will be of all different styles.
Barry uses many production techniques learned from listening to many
artists and types of music, including the famous "Stutter" technique made
popular by his favorite artist, BT. Right now he is working on mastering the
"Protools Scratch". With time and experience you will be able to hear his style
morph into different styles and sounds as he gets encased by different artists.
Some of Barry's major musical influences include: BT, Sasha & Digweed,
Crystal Method, Prodigy, Smashing Pumpkins, Timbaland, Hybrid, Orbital, Quivver,
and many more.
The heart of Barry's studio consists of a Power Mac G4 with a dual
450 mhz processor, 1.5 gb of ram, and 190 gb of harddrive space. Programs in use
right now include Protools LE 5.2.1, Melodyne, Recycle 2.0, Absynth, and Reason.
His outboard gear includes the DIGI 001, Access Virus, Korg Electribe-A, Alesis
SR-16, Alesis Nanoverb, Roland EM-10, and Mackie Active speakers. His hopes to
acquire the popular Roland JP-8000 in the near future to expand his
sound.
