In the 1970's, a lot of idealistic people gravitated to Eugene, Oregon. They were consciously looking for an alternative to the consumptive lifestyle that seemed to be taking over everywhere. Eugene was sort of beneath the radar, it was cheap, it was beautiful and lush, and still wide open. Bert & Debreeze were among these people. They worked planting trees, bought a little house on a big lot in an unincorporated area and proceeded to make it beautiful. Bert branched out from tree planting to tree climbing to nursing to something that is just now taking shape, and Debreeze became the Earth Mother of the Glenwood Dump (Debreeze is shy like a unicorn and if she is reading this now, she's miffed at me for making her the center of attention. Sorry, Debreeze!) Anyway, if our little community can be compared to a bee hive, then Bert & Debreeze are its' King and Queen. I hope you have people in your life who are as wonderful as they are. |

You know the story: first the kid's exploited by one ideology, then he's exploited by the other ideology. Maybe the Amercian Media will give him the martydom he was looking for from the Taliban.Û |
