The rest of it was built up around that - including over 40 overdubbed backing vocals. The haters think it's synths - but that shit is all me - stacked and stacked. They're called "overdubs". Get some. Took weeks to record all that shit...written & recorded in January 2002...this mix finally produced 3 months later. | Probably my favorite track from "The Secret Life of Boys" album. I think this is some of finest drum squencing I've ever done. It gets really massive and really complex. The track started with me humming 5 notes or so, and the rest of it was recorded around that. Once again it starts small and builds. Plus I really like the optimistic vibe of the track. It feels upbeat. Triumphant. Like there really might be a new world coming... |

| This is a new mix and remastering of a track that appeared in edited form on last year's "Listen Nude" compilation CD put out by 3000 Records. It's got lots of parts - unlike most of today's dance music. I personally get bored quickly if a composer just repeats the same shit over and over. I try not to ever do that. I like this track a lot because it takes you on a trip with lots of sounds, samples and percussion. And it's about your soul after all. |

| I wrote this after seeing my friend Danny dressed in drag at Halloween as Judy Garland - and it builds - that's the main thing. It starts with just a bass synth bubbling along and by the end it's turned into this huge production. It took over 80 multi-tracks to create this monster...it vaguely reminds me of Frankie Goes To Hollywood. So relax, be a star. |
