An ELP infulenced song with an Anne Mcaffrey plot "Riding the Dragon" is a short epic that goes through five movements. The first movement stated in the opening piece as an overture of sorts with acoustic instruments and the opening lyrics depicting the begining of an adventure for the story teller. The second movement tells of the search for the Dragon while the music moves along at a fast pace, going up and down mountains. The third movement begins with a wipe to the forhead and the discovery of the Dragons lair and the merging of two beings, the vocals and the music are very tension filled here. The fourth movement is the answer for both Dragon and Rider as they travel off together. The fifth and last movement is short but sweet, while the story teller explains that they live happily ever after as they ride off into the sunrise. | MP3.com CD: Bent - buy it!

Lush vocals fill this soundscape in a progressive rock vein. Our tune begins with a funk yourself up beat and works its way around to a sweeping vocal melody that will take you away. The lyrics were written with several people in mind.. mostly the prog bands of the 70's. While Jon Anderson and Yes was the first one I thought of, I quickly added to my list of personal musical heros. Then we began to think of ELP, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Genesis,Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, PFM, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Dixie Dregs, Billy Cobham, Stanley Clarke, Flora Purim, Chic Corea, John Mclaughlin, (I could do this quite a while! ) But as we thought of the feelings we got from listening to them we came up with this song. Glenn really got into the sprit when he wrote the second to the last section of this song which has a very Gentle Giant movement to it what with the marimba rhythms and all.. It's loads of fun!! | MP3.com CD: Bent - buy it!

This story is very personal, but you might relate . In this Piece we started out with a Pink floyd feel to it, the waltz rhythm just "happened". The opening is our version of what it's like when you close your eyes and watch the visuals that go on. The song begins with the frustration of the story tellers inability to connect with a person who has gone into a state of catatonia, while the music carries you through a few changes, especially towards the third section of the song. | MP3.com CD: Bent - buy it!
