Synopsis
Cathartic Secretion : Melantonin aims to reconfigure a contemporary body of post-disco zen. When too much is not enough, wanton bodies oscillate between tension and release, hovering in a hiatus of near-indifference. The thawing of a body - quaking loins and disquieting murmurs - it spreads out horizontal, naming the expanse of the ocean. The cadaver rejuvenates its libido, sending out a tremor. Its restlessness irrigates the parched earth. Fertile love is a danc e.
The piece juxtaposes club-life and the romantic sublime. The subject drowns on the dance floor, in a sea of writhing bodies - melting into the crowd and then differentiated again, or both at the same time. Heavy rave tunes with relentless beats drive the body to move, propelling a fluid, total experience. The body projected onto the sea becomes a polymorphous entity of infinite swarming points. The dance starts with the sea and ends with it.
