Felix Carter, Guitarist, Songwriter/Producer, began his musical career in Springfield, MA where he grew up and performed with the likes of such notables as Avery Sharpe (Bassist for McCoy Tyner), Alvin Terry, Joe Velez, Archie Sheppe, and the late Clyde Criner, just to name a few. Soon to be release is Felix Carter's latest musicial endeavor Flexology, a collage of original composition and soulfully interpreted classics. Felix will tell you himself that Golden Lady by Stevie Wonder is one of his favorites. "I like the smooth silky feel I was able to get on that track, Jazzy-Hop type of thang. Felix's music lets us feel what he has described as divine inspiration by jazz icons, Monk and Trane. " They encourage us to do something different" On eariler Carter releases, UnSpoken Word Volumes I & II, and Nice and Easy, the influences of Earl Klugh, Kevin Eubanks, Mark Whitfield, George Benson, and Wes Montgomery shows through tastefully. You don't have to travel to New York to hear fresh music. An invigorating new concept of Jazz-Hop is orginating in San Jose, CA. Felix is known by his friend and peers as "Flex" and has artfully combined structure with improvisation that sometimes seems to be hurling out of control but never does. Dig it! Felix can be seen performing with some of the Bay Area's Master's such as Clifford Coulter and Ronnie Beck around the San Francisco and Bay Area. Felix plays Ibanez Guitars and uses Labella Guitar Strings Polytone and Fender Chorus Amps.
