[ djames megamix ] [ positive trance ] [ full biography ]
Passers-by in a quaint, quiet, yuppie, home-owning neighborhood are exposed too quickly to the trance nation. They look in the window of the house of where the noise is coming from, and they see things they shouldn't see: kids dancing, and swirls of glowing light so mind-bending, they would scare even the average yuppie. The landlord, scared as hell of electronic music, shuts the party down after minutes. Why? It's the power of Seattle's next best trancetechnobreakbeatmindbender DJ, Djames.
Just like the music that emanates from the studio in his Seattle home, Djames has been influenced by many different places and people. Born as James Michael Stone on January 13, 1978 in Sacramento, Djames was influenced early by 80s pop artists like Madonna, Cindi Lauper and Duran Duran. Then, after living in various cities and towns around and outside California, such as Grass Valley, Newport Beach and Las Vegas, Nevada, amongst others, he moved to Bainbridge Island, a suburb of Seattle that has been called, Seattle's answer to Beverly Hills. It was here, in 1993, that he took his first step into the doorway known as electronica.
