Hello, Fellow Ragtime, Stride and Novelty Piano Lovers!
My name is Irwin Schwartz. I live in beautiful Cupertino, California. My interest in piano music dates back to my childhood when, at the age of five, I started taking lessons. I was nourished on classical music and didn't learn about the joy of ragtime, stride and novelty music until relatively recently. It's been said to me that I must have had a sheltered childhood. Sheltered or not, I have come to know of and love the work of the likes of Joplin, Waller, Confrey, Tatum, James P. Johnson, Willie "The Lion" Smith, Jelly Roll Morton and an army of other talented composers and musicians. What they produced is timeless. I hope you enjoy my web site.
