    1993-1994

This page was created in memory of the good old garage band days.

THE PAST: Shadow Lord began in 1993 between two high school friends, Kevin LeBlanc and Roy Adams. After jamming together several times on Metallica and Dio covers, they decided to form a band. Kev brought in Rick Heenan on vocals, who in turn brought Mike Webb in on drums. After a long discussion on what to call this band (Kev wanted to call the band Shadowdancer and Rick wanted to call it Metal Lord), they compromised on Shadow Lord. After a lot of hard work, they brought in two originals, "Full Force" and "Ravens". However, it all crumbled very quickly in 1994 due to the plague of "artistic differences" and the group went thier seperate ways.

ROY AND MIKE POST SHADOW LORD: Roy and Mike joined with Burt Philbrick and Brian Sullivan who had already formed Disembodiment, a Punk/ Death Metal band. They were on the verge of recording thier first album but was undermined from a consistand drug problem. Roy and Mike left to form a Doom/Metal group called Autumnal Gray with guitarist Mike Shermally and David Sukforth. The foursome was short lived due to extream musical diferences. Dave and Mike S both left leaving just Roy and Mike who changed the name to Autumnal Blood Moon in 1996. It was at this time that Roy picked up keyboard but never put the Bass down, he played them both at the same time as well as did the vocals making one of the most rarest spectacles ever seen on stage. The two worked for two years and started recording thier debut album, "The Quest For Blood Ends". Mike was forced to move to Florida one week before the duo was to perform thier first major show due to unforseen surcumstances leaving Roy all alone. In 1998, Roy remained as Autumnal Blood Moon, dropping the Bass and focusing on Keyboards, he reformatted the style to Techno/Darkwave/Goth. He recorded and released his debut masterpiece, called "Alone In Darkness" in 2000, The title track was based on the fact he was now alone and with out any success. He also founded Dark Valley Records, a record label, distro and recording studio.

KEVYN POST SHADOW LORD: After graduation from high school and Shadow Lord's break-up, Kevyn moved away and got married. During that time, he and his wife had tried in vain to form a new band, by the names of Succubus, Vampyre, and Cerridwen, as well as an attempt at reforming Shadow Lord. But his wife's interests, both musical and personal, were elsewhere. In early 1999 Kev met goth vocalist Anderson Mar, who was trying to form a band called Othniel. It was around this time that he realized that his musical partnership, as well as his marriage, to his wife was at an end. After leaving his wife, he devoted all his energy to Othniel. But due to an inevitable move to Connecticut, the partnership dissolved amicably. Kevyn tried in vain to form other bands, including one with current Maudlin Of The Well guitarist Greg Massi. He never broke off communications with Anderson, when he realized that there was still chemistry there. Over the net, they created several songs under the moniker of Mar(tyr), which only the music was recorded. Kevyn realized that his future was not in Connecticut, and thus moved back to Maine. But Mar(tyr) was short lived, as Anderson was planning a move to Massachusetts. In late 1999 He changed the name to Gallows Hill, and then released the early instrumental demos on www.mp3.com. At the same time, he was forming a heavier, more brutal band called Sanguine Solstice. In 2001 while trying to build up a list of musical contacts, he reestablished contact with Roy after buying his "Alone In Darkness" album. After talking for several minutes, they realized the old chemistry was still there, and thus Roy was recruited into Sanguine Solstice on bass. However, like every one of his previous projects, it was shortlived. This time, it was the fact that neither wanted to do the commonly accepted form of gothic metal made popular by bands like Tristania and Sins Of Thy Beloved. Thus, Sanguine Solstice dissolved, and Roy was instead brought into Gallows Hill. It would seem that Gallows Hill was the pair's ticket, and since then, they had been recording their powerful blend of progressive metal and darkwave.

RICK POST SHADOW LORD: No one knows what became of Rick.

THE PRESENT: Kevyn also formed Avalon Burning in 2001 with Canadian filk singer Diane "Sable" Morrison who later also joined Gallows Hill, making it one of the most productive endevours ever done to date.

Mike Webb recently returned from Florida due to a premonition he had. In his vision, he was on stage in front of a giant crowd with Roy (as well as others but he could only remember Roy). This vision must have been pretty strong to make him move 1200 miles back to Maine. To him, it was a sign that we were all destined to make it big and that he would miss it if he didn't return.

In 2002, Fragile Frost's, Die Winters joined up with Roy and Mike and formed 13 Winters. They are becoming the most advanced band ever to come from this group of people and is the most likely to make it big. Later in late 2002, Roy left Gallows Hill after being threatened legaly by the other members. To this date, Gallows Hill has been Idle. in Early 2003 Mike Webb left 13 Winters and currently traveles back and forth between Maine and California to his Girlfriend out there. THE FUTURE: Shadow Lord is dead and gone, but like the pheonix rising from its ashes, the musicians in Shadow Lord has a bright future ahead of them.
