The Semis: Bill Soma (Vocals, Guitar). Unchristian Unchristofferson
(Drums). Chris (Bass).
Fondly known as the Tampa Bay Area "bad boys," The
Semis have caused quite a stir since their eruption on the scene in the
summer of 2002. They were voted "Best New Band" of 2002 by Tampa's Weekly
Planet, they opened for The Exies ("My Goddess") and Bill Soma appeared on
the poster for the Southeast Music Alliance Compilation biting the head off
of a flamingo. They continue to play in Tampa Bay, and continue to put on
one of the most intriguing live shows running. The music is no less than
genius, for fans of Dinosaur Jr., Pavement and Cheap Trick. They are
currently getting airplay on WSUN 97X and WMNF 88.5 FM. Their first record,
Upper Middle Trash, will be released sometime this year by Tampa Bay
hometown label, Mekka Records.
