Greetings from Wanderlust Studio! For most of my life I have been on the move - living in 14 states and 3 other countries has given me a pretty interesting perspective on this amazing world we live in. Lots of experiences to pull from when writing songs. I recently relocated to Orlando and just began production on my first full-length album of original material. This demo CD is just the beginning. I play out when I get the chance but I spend most of my time in the studio collaborating and creating. Life is good.
Keep an eye on this web site for updates, performance info, and new songs.
Thanks for stopping by. -Christopher

Upbeat acoustic-driven world music-inspired folk rock. (whew!) Whatever you do, don't miss this one! Background story: I've always been interested in rhythms from around the world and I have a growing collection of exotic instruments. When I was living in Turkey, I bought a beautiful clay and goat skin drum from one of the local markets. It was well played before I ever showed up. After a dry spell writing songs on the piano and acoustic guitar, I picked up the drum and the idea for this song just came out. It was written and recorded in three days. | MP3.com CD: christopher sauter - demo - buy it!

In our studio we have an old top hat filled with song ideas written on little strips of paper. Any new visitor is asked to contribute an idea or two. When it is time to collaborate, we pull a strip out of the hat and go! The strip this day said "Life at the top of a redwood tree" and happened to be written by Nicole Darrah. The song itself was influenced by the story of Julia Hill. For 738 days Julia Butterfly Hill lived in the canopy of an ancient redwood tree, called Luna, to help make the world aware of the plight of ancient forests. With the help of steelworkers and environmentalists, Julia successfully negotiated to permanently protect the 1,000 year-old tree and a nearly three-acre buffer zone. Her two-year vigil informed the public that only 3% of the ancient redwood forests remain and that the Headwaters Forest Agreement, brokered by state and federal agencies and Pacific Lumber/Maxxam Corporation, would not adequately protect forests and species. Go to www.circleoflife.org for more info!
Like most of the other songs on the demo, this recording is an unfinished version. Expect the full version with more verses and a soaring arrangement on the new album. | MP3.com CD: christopher sauter - demo - buy it!

Another smokey, romantic night at the Equinox Grill as the jazz trio lulls us into a trance. I was working at the Equinox Grill in Natick, MA and they were filming a commercial with none other than Rex Trailer (www.rextrailer.com). They needed a song that captured the essence of the restaurant and I was up for the challenge. This song was inspired by Jeff Evans and the amazing food and atmosphere of the Equinox. I ended up doing the voiceover for the commercial as well. I'm sure you never saw it - come to my place, I have a copy! What a great experience. Another song in the works for the new CD. | MP3.com CD: christopher sauter - demo - buy it!
