    		Recitations is my first CD and has truly been a solo effort. While I did use other musicians to fill out the sound on a couple of tunes, all the other instrumentation and production was something I chose to do alone.

    Certainly it has been a lot of work, but in the grand scheme of things there have been some very significant benefits to using this approach. I've gotten to think outside the bounds of the traditional keyboard player and work with all the parts of a composition like bass, drums, guitar, percussion, strings, etc. I've been able to experience first hand the amazing technological advances in MIDI sequencing, sampling, and digital audio editing. But most importantly, I have been able to share some of my music as I hear it without the time constraints and funding concerns normally associated with a recording project.

    I am not sure what to say about the style of these compositions, the general category is rock. But beyond that, the tunes on Recitations range from the traditional rock ballad to that of a classical concerto. The subject matter is just as varied covering the gambit from dark and brooding to that of hope and optimism. So hopefully, there is something here you too will appreciate whether it be a melody, a lyric, or simply the fact that in today's technological world there is no reason for your songs to stay locked up inside.
