Greetings.
My name is Benyoucef Hebboul. I was born in Miliana, Algeria, in 1968. I started playing the piano when I was a teenager.
My father had bought an old piano and put it in the living room. I loved its brown look and was amazed by how it worked.
I remember opening it from its front, and I even played with its harp-looking strings.
Later in my life, I started showing great interest in Synthesizers, musical instruments that changed the world of music. "Equinoxe" and "Oxygene" of the great new age composer Jean-Michel Jarre were among the first instrumentals that drew me deep into that world.
Being an amateur, I haven't had any music education. I still can't read it or write it down on paper. But that never prevented me from composing it. Inspiration cannot be taught.

50 seconds of music dedicated to the famous band Dissidenten, which we don't hear about these days. They disappeared quick, which is why this tune is short. I miss their music. |

Experimental musical piece depicting my vision on War and violence in general. The drums/percussions constitute the skeleton of the drama. The flute's short passage is a call for Peace. The strings follow the flute's melody and become "psychedelic" towards a sudden end.
Aside from the rhythm, the strings (starting at 3:00) were particularly hard to sequence.
Composed entirely with a BOSS Dr. Synth DS-330 Sound Module and an Alesis MMT8 Sequencer.
Enjoy! |
