Welcome to the website of JIMD a funky fresh group with a goal of soul.
We only have a couple songs up right now, but we will upload more soon!
The group is made up of Jake, Ian, Matt, and David. We play and learn form eachother through creative funky improvisations and classic jazz tunes.
So i guess thats it for now, but yea enjoy!
NOTE: Most of our songs were recorded with a low quality device and transfer through a computer mic put a limit to the volume, so feel free to crank it up to hear!! Thanks
PS Jake and I are in another band called scary no name, check them out at:

(Same As Last Version but with better volume!)
This song was recorded when we got in tuned up and just started playing and jamming, our favorite thing to do. In the beggining you can hear us messing around, but then the jam starts! :) Highlights are some great piano playing and comping by Matt, some funked out drummin by Jake, some funky bass and a bass/ guitar off between Ian and David at 4:14. Thanks for listening! |

This song was recorded directly after Funk Jam In F. The song starts at a medium energy and and gets sky rocketed thanks to some fucking amazing and funky drumming by jake, some great comping by matt and some great guitar solos ala david. other highlights include a funky bass solo, starting at 3:30 and some cool minor harmonics at 6:53, accompanied by some sick drumming and some slick comping by matt. Another highlight and i cant stress this enough is jakes FUCKING DISGUTSING DRUMMING hes a madman he knows it. Also at the end of the song matt lays down some gorgeous textures as the song comes to an end. Thanks for listening, more will be up soon! NOTE: Both these files were recorded with a low quality recorder and volume is minimal, so feel free to turn it up!! :);) |

The third in the Funk Jam In series, funk jam in C resembles the F jam in a slower funky way. On this recording, the guitar and piano are alot more audible due to the position of the mic. Also hopefully the volume on this recording will improve some from the level of the other jams, and will be the same as the updated jams.
Some highlights of this playing are some nice whole tone scale work matt uses if you listen closely near the end of the song, some always funky drumming by jake, some GREAT bluesly melodicly inventive guitar playing by david, and some down home funky bass with a Wah Wah pedal hooked up to the amp, listen closely and funk out!! ;) ;) |
