Since 1959, Musica Sacra has earned a reputation for giving authentic performances of choral music from many eras, and the skill and dedication to bring to those performances the highest standards of musical excellence. Under the direction of Mary Beekman since 1979, Musica Sacra's outstanding reputation has grown significantly, with recent concerts presented to enthusiastic sold-out audiences.
Musica Sacra has performed concerts in collaboration with the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, the Boston Museum of Science and live on WGBH with Doug Briscoe, Ron Della Chiesa and the late Robert J. Lurtsema. 2003 marked the fourth year in a row Musica Sacra has performed as a concurrent event at the Boston Early Music Festival.
