TRAMUNTANA is an experiment in improvised chamber music. We live in Palma de
Mallorca, in Spain's Balearic Islands. All of the music on this
page was improvised, composition and performance
occur ing in the same creative moment.
Oil and watercolor paintings by the Russian artist Youlia Volodina.

Another improv sort of inspired by the occasional drip we heard in the walls of the Juliart studio. Here Enrique finds some beautiful colors with electric violin while DBruce does odd things. |

This is from the SWING workshop, an improv we did during the work session preparing for the next day's concert. We picked three contrasting ideas to structure the improv. Enrique came up with the battle image, Helen the cellist suggested a waltz section, and Julia the soprano wondered how it would be to end with a lullaby. Here's how it turned out. |
Label: Deutche-Grammophon ... just kidding..
