Hi there,
My name is Ruth Ellner,I'm a singer songwriter, but now I'm mainly a songwriter.
I feel that my songs are influenced by the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie
And some other well-known songwriters.
I was born in Jerusalem in 1945 to a Yemenite orthodox Jewish couple who were abusing me like hell but this is another story. I already wrote about it in a screenplay and in an autobiography, which is called "hardship of a little girl".
Let me tell you about my musical background. I started singing when I was 6 years old, and sang in concert when I was 16. At the time I performed mostly Hebrew folk songs. Then I preformed in France, Belgium and England. After that I was drafted to the Israeli army and I was in the Airforce singing with the Airforce orchestra.
Later on I started to sing in nightclub and imitating Ella Fitzgerald, and making Hebrew Jazz.
In the 1980's I was looking for good songs to record in England and I have found out that good songs are going to the big stars, so with no choice I recorded the best I could find and I ended up having 2 singles released.
After that experience I decided to write my own songs and I ended up writing over 100 songs.
I immigrated legally to America in 1981 and I love this country.
Right now I'm looking for established singers to record songs I wrote.
