A very close friend and childhood playmate was the late famouse musical mogul, Jimi Hendrix. In fact, Sammy and Jimmy were often found playing together on Sammy's porch. Sammy strives to keep the Jimi Hendrix legend and legacy alive. He is responsible for the annual Jimi Hendrix day granted by the City of Seattle Mayor, Norm Rice. Sammy's style, grace and musical savvy alone, is a personal tribute to Hendrix.
