| Late in his life Liszt received a request from a publisher for permission to re-publish this charming early work. Instead Liszt composed and sent to him the more well know "Romance Oublee", a rewrite of the original but tinged with the melancholy and wistfulness characteristic of Liszt's later years. As a result the original "Romance" passed into obscurity and is rarely heard or played. | |
