Welcome to Rusted Mentality! On this page you will find forgotten relics of mine that were created using a variety of techniques when I was younger. This page is for all of you who are interested in earlier projects of mine (Brian F). Nothing here is intended to be destined for greatness. Most of the material is terribly out of time with poor mixing, simply because there is no mixing. Just sit back and enjoy while you get an idea of where my newer material has evolved from. Enjoy!

I just thought you might want to check out this band that Mrparkeeto and I just happened to be involved in now. I think you might like it! Listen here!! Listen to Binaural Eulogy.

Completely done on my Packard Bell computer at less than cd quality settings. I had a wav recorder and I just laid one track over the other. It took 3 days! Due to unwanted legalities, the only way to truely listen to this song is to REVERSE THE FILE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, this one really wasn't done from tape to tape. I actually did this one overdubbing back and forth from a tape deck to pc. The pc just had 16mb of ram with only a 100mhz processor so I couldn't record at cd quality. Bass guitar was first, rhythm guitar was second, keyboards were third, lead guitar was fourth, and of coarse drums were last. Fortunately this doesn't have that many timing problems. I actually recorded this as a conglomeration of a couple of songs I was familiar with on a tape containing instrumentals of calssic rock songs that I was doing to try and keep a progressive record of my lead work. Most of the songs on the tape are songs like these: No More Mr Nice Guy, You Really Got Me, Little Wing, Walk This Way, Godzilla, and so on. I think I was 19 years old when I did this one. You should start seeing a progression in my musical evolution yourselves if you've listened to the older material from when I was pre-adolecent, or maybe it was pre-pubecent?

Ok, ok... This is actually the remnants from the very first set of songs I tried to develop after partially learning how to play guitar. This song is loaded with tons of fuck ups, but due to the fact that drums were recorded first there's no problem with timing! YES!!! The recording technique was to record drums first, then place that tape deck and another in front of a 1975 100 watt SG. The bass guitar was plugged into the SG and the drums track was played while the second tape deck picked everything up through its built in microphone. The process was then repeated putting the guitar on top of everything. This tune features a 1962 Fender Jazz master ran through the ever awsome BIG RED Super Fuzz!!!! There's nothing that sounds like a couple of dirty, out-of-value transistors, diods, capacitors, and resistors! Rock on Super Fuzz!!!
