The fans and the escalator produce this light humming noise on the 6-th floor. Mostly it is only background noise but then, someone flips a page in front of you, the other crack-opens his file binder, a student clears his throat far out on the other side. Echoes are heard of the sounds from the lower levels and through the open balcony.
These acoustic little incidents make for an exciting play made of random silence disruptions. It is in a quiet room that one can really appreciate that "sound of silence"; for when it is quiet, all sorts of audible detail is brought up to surface, seeking your attention.
In tune to the hum noises, there's a few vibe lines played along that are barely audible; can you hear it?

Soothing reflections of silent whispers are only a part of the "promenade" sensation, natural reverb blends in with the sound sources in it's spacious ambiance;
Minimal keys played by Tim Gerwing (check him out at MP3.com);
When i study at home, i tend to play this on "repeat" on my CD player.

"a dream" is the result of a digital audio manipulation process called convolution. In this case convolving was done between Tim Gerwing's "Chickatetsu" and the "Promenade" tracks (found on this site).
Although, creatively at least, this track took not much effort past the concept idea behind it, i suggest that you listen to it, and try to ignore it's beauty - if you can.
