You’ve probably not heard of Tara Sales yet.
Don’t worry about it. You will.
She’s a singer, a songwriter, an actress, and a young woman in a hurry. Born and raised in Toronto’s cottage country. Small and feisty and ambitious and heart-breakingly beautiful.
There’s a list stuck to a magnet on her fridge. It’s a daily reminder of what it takes to build a career in a competitive business. And it’s a reminder to her that being 22, being the former Miss Toronto and a contestant in the Miss Canadian Universe pageant is all very well and good, but it hardly gets your foot in the door. Even having a soulful voice like a young, blonde Aretha Franklin just isn’t enough.
There always has to be more, and time’s a wasting.

How long will all this take? How long before she has a band of backup players that can do her new songs justice? How long before all the training and studying and lessons and sheer hard work starts to pay off?
