JJ, co-creator of BLAQUE OUT (the title cut off the upcoming BLAQUE album), is well on her way to becoming a house-hold name due her signature writing style and innovative musical concepts.
Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, JJ started her singing career at age 5. Shortly after her parents discovered her unique gift, JJ auditioned and was accepted to the Colorado Academy of the Arts, where she studied song and dance for 10 years. After graduating from High School, JJ immediately moved to New York City, where she began writing, recording, and performing.
In 1999, JJ was discovered by FULL FORCE (producers and writers of hits, such as All I Have by the Backstreet Boys and All Cried Out by Allure) who after trying JJ on a few tracks, signed her to a production deal.
Today, JJ has the title track to BLAQUE OUT under her belt (not to mention her second to none background vocals and arrangement), has scored placements on several upcoming albums, and most recently, signed on as a writer with SESAC.
On the artist tip, JJ's soulful vocals, animated rap flow and witty writing make it all too clear that this so-called average girl is anything but average! Because of her versatility between singer and song-writer, JJ has been likened to the likes of Missy Elliott and Lil' Mo and is almost certain to become the next influencial female in today’s male-dominated music industry. Most recently, JJ's undeniable sound was praised by industry heavy-hitters R. Kelly and Tommy Matola for her writing and performance on BLAQUE OUT.
