Why these greedy, deplorable, technocratic petro-morticians even bother pretending I don't know. They say you should never judge a book by its cover... but look at that face. It's a dead giveaway. As is the Statement of Principles at www.newamericancentury.org Be sure to click "VIEW SONG INFO"!

A simple work that, much like "Great Cataract", just happened. A poignant reflection on life passing the urban cataclysm of work, work, work, work, right on by... hints of 80s breakdance and funk... a very primitive track with a catchy synth bassline, with TNSP's trademark melodic beauty plucking its way through the song. Comes between "Techtosterone" and "The Wealth of Fear" on the album.

Beautiful plucked strings, subtle pads bringing in a richness of emotion as the song develops, laid delicately over a foundation of retro synths, hip hop bass, and a fantastically funky mid-tempo break.

Credits: written, mixed, produced by Pete Dunstan. Mastered by Andrew Simper (Vellocet {Aus}).

Heavily influenced by jazz and 70s psychedelia with contemporary touches. Ultra melodic and epic nervous tension. Slightly overdriven drums transform the kicks and toms into some sizzling bass noise. A beautiful track with a lot of groove. It follows "Great Cataract" on the album, hence the ambient link and the end and start of those respective MP3 files.

As usual the categorisation of this song isn't entirely appropriate. It starts off as wild, bombastic breaks with a dramatic melody, then goes into a solid reggae stomp. George Orwell knew it too well. We see it clearly now. There is no greater wealth than an investment in fear and violence. Hail to The Cheat!

Flows out of "The Wealth of Fear" and into "Dead Giveaway" Begins with a soundscape of Pax Americana... followed by Underground Resistance-style electro. "Rallying a nation of television viewers into hysteria... to sweep us into The White House with powers that will make martial law seem like anarchy..." Contains a sample of Vera Lynn's "We'll Meet Again", and Angela Lansbury from "The Manchurian Candidate".

"Even out here, the sun's warmth manages to penetrate the nitrogen surface, sending geysers of the gas in liquid form tens of kilometres into the atmosphere."---- Written with some of the drums processed through the plug-in magic of Andrew Simper. He's a genius, methinks. You'll notice it when the percussion goes all wet and splintery.

Not for a movie... but the soundtrack to a performance devised by Isobel Necessary and Kelly Lee Hickey (http://www.isobelnecessary.com/six.htm) The motif is the traditional femme-action / policewoman soundtrack from the 70s, morphing into a steely cybernetic interpretation, then back into the original style for the finale. Features a sample of Rush's "La Villa Strangiato"
