SOLOMON JABBY
In the 1970's, Jamaica's music industry was in its most creative and productive era led by such innovative producers as Bunny Lee, Coxsone Dodd, and Lee Perry, as well as revolutionary studio engineer and mix-master Osbourne Ruddock, also known as the great King Tubby. Solomon Jabby's recording techniques draw heavily on the style of these early reggae pioneers by staying true to the roots reggae tradition.
The 70's dub sound was raised from the ashes by Jabby at his own recording studio known locally as the "Altar of Sound". This studio is equipped with some of the most obsolete equipment money can buy, including various tube powered preamps, spring reverbs, tape echos, reel to reel units, and other 1970's era studio gear . This equipment was used by Tubby and Perry over 25 years ago, and help give Jabby's music an authentic roots sound that most modern reggae has failed to maintain. -(Altarsound Records)
