Medieval times. The fever hallucinations of a sick hermite. He dreams of his pilgrimage to Rome: More and more fellow pilgrims join him. Thousands converge into the Holy City. But as the pilgrim enters the Vatican the dream comes to a sudden end - the dreamer awakes in his poor hut, far away from Rome, and passes away.
Instrumentation for vibratoless strings, flutes and brass, written in the dorian mode.
Part of the soundtrack of "Byzance retrouvée" directed by Philippe Calderon |

Continuation of the song "Dozing Whale" (Filmmusic). Four parts:
(A) A young Beluga whale dozing near the sunny surface.
(B) It's getting dark in an eerie underwaterworld...
(C) Suddenly it is here - typically from behind. The shark. But not one of the kind we see in our holydays on the Maldives, rather one from northern, troubled feature film waters...
(D) For a moment we are left in uncertainty about whether the shark got the Beluga-baby. Until we hear the answer.
