Emotions, the movement of body and breath, thoughts, and the logic conundrum that seems to dictate them all is looking for a voice in this music, and asks to be interpreted and felt. Please react to these sounds, for they themselves are reactions. Pulses, squeaks, the ruins of prehistoric bop phrases, the words inscribed on the underpants of statues...its trying to find a language here, one that can be understood universally as well as within the creative frame of each individual's imagination. Yet these sounds are also a desperate attempt at fleeing the analytical movements that can so easily overtake the feelings and emotions that make up the human condition--the logical "habits" that contain the mind and body. In a worse case scenario, our being becomes a house, a building, a city for these repetitious actions, a place devoid of creativity and obsessed with defining individual significance as a means of finding substance, which ultimately destroys art through ego rather then giving it life through understanding. The line between creative personal expression and the stagnation of megalomania is a thin one to be sure, and hopefully this music can be seen as something that embraces the former and battles against the latter. Whether your reaction is positive or negative, I hope it is met with your own art and thoughts. This music, like all the creative actions and ideas that swarm my own day to day, is dedicated to my loved ones.

If you've heard the Getz/Gilberto tune, then you are already one foot into this puddle. An open collaboration between good friends, this piece deals with missed glances, meaningful shrugs, and the pleasures and frustrations offered when living in the age of movie romances. |

A completely different interpretation of a given theme. The shout on this one is a little bit louder, and the shrug is a lot more hunched over. What I really dig about this version is the atmosphere...sounds to go with dim lights that are ready to burst their bulbs. |

A jargon word for the modern version of "Manifest Destiny". Society's attempt to domesticate open spaces for purposes of family raising and in order to control ones environment. Land is cultivated and homes, Wal-Marts, Boutiques, souvenier stands, fast-food holes, etc...are grown from the soil. | MP3.com CD: Thrum Thrush Thrust - buy it!
