New CD "HAT FITZ AND FREAKZ"
Fitzy's 6th independent release does not disappoint, bringing his amazing
guitar, mandolin and banjo style to raw acoustic, delta, country, trance,
bluegrass and stomp blues, the way only Hat Fitz can deliver.
This cd sees him jamming with a stellar line up of freakz and friends
including faithful side kick Itchy,{drums, percussion/washboard}
Seisy Jones,{Fiddle} The Zeers,{trumpet, bush bass} Gibwit {throat}
and Mr Moline {harp}.
There a mix of original:- Bitchmar- mother in law bluesgrass, Hold my hand- Fitzy stomping solo. Gibbos Goss- Rumbling tom toms and home-made Boagzy (one string, a plank of timber and a beer can)
and old blues tunes from Hat's heros (Mississippi John Hurt, Freddy
McDowell John Lee and more) all done with a twist of Fitz.

Few performers world wide, have been able to match the wildman approach to
the delicate art of finger picking perfected by Hat Fitz. The recent success
of The White Stripes has seen great interest in guitar drum duo's but none
are able to match the fire and finesse of Hat Fitz & Itchy. Nine consecutive
appearances at The East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival are testimony to
their popularity nationally.

{Hat Fitz} plays heavily amplified acoustic blues. Much of it in the style
of blues guitarist from the 20s and 30s. Sometimes in the delicate finger-
picking manner of the blues folkies sometimes flat out almost frenzied
with growling vocals and driving drums/washboard.
If someone gave Charlie Patton an electrified beat up metal body guitar and
a jar of slurps this is what it would sound like.
Hat Fitz is a true homegrown equivalent of someone like RL Burnside T-Model Ford
playing raw and deceptively simple unique music which actually requires exceptional skill.
I cannot think of any one in this country to match him.
