 THE SILOS |
Started by guitarists/vocalists Walter Salas-Humara and Bob Rupe, The Silos first released About Her Steps in 1995, a raw, catchy and melodic brand of folk-rock that drew favorable notices from critics and comparisons to R.E.M., the Velvet Underground and the Byrds. A short stint on RCA soon followed and Rupe departed The Silos in 1991 (he now plays bass with Cracker). With their latest release, Heater, The Silos might have recaptured their original fire, as New Times LA calls Heater ''their most adventurous since the band debuted with About Her Steps thirteen years ago Heater is a thoroughly unexpected and frequently haunting surprise."
