Any jazz fan will tell you, Harvie S (formerly Harvie Swartz) is one of the great bass players on the scene today. He's played with the best, inspired the best, and he continues to challenge himself and his peers in new artistic directions. But Harvie is also a producer, bandleader and composer with over 60 of his compositions recorded.

Called by many the "guitar players bible", Harvie's CD In a Different Light brings together some legendary figures of jazz: Mike Stern, John Scofield, Mick Goodrick, Leni Stern and Gene Bertoncini (guitar), Winard Harper and Leon Parker (drums).

Harvie's seminal CD Urban Earth has been unavailable for some time. Fortunately, it is now back in circulation exclusively at MP3.com. The Urban Earth Band consists of David Sanborn and Bob Mintzer (sax), Mike Stern (guitar), Victor Lewis (drums), Manolo Badrena (percussion), and Ben Aronov (piano).
