They're the "thinking man's party band,"
A group whose debut Mesa album catapulted to the Top 10 playlists at adult album alternative radio stations a few years back.
They're the ones with the funky soul grooves, rootsy instrumentation, hook filled lyrics, bluesy horn and organ licks, and distinctive vocals -- somewhat reminiscent of PFunk and Sly and the Family Stone, kind of similar to Little Feat, sort of a second cousin to Tower of Power, and totally impossible to pigeonhole.
Ernie Perez (vocals, sax) Brie Darling (vocals, percussion) Eric Fowler (vocals, guitar) Alfredo Ballesteros (vocals, sax, flute), Randy Landas (bass), Gary Pavlika (drums)
Following their debut, it didn't take long for audiences and critics to jump in the ring and proclaim themselves Boxing Gandhis fans.
After their Cinderella rise up the AAA radio charts, trade magazine FMQB lauded them as "Most Promising New Band of the Year."
And whether headlining packed clubs from coast to coast, or kicking off the show on a national tour with the Dave Matthews Band, the Gandhis have lived up to HITS magazine's description of them as "Knock-u-out live!"
