Thirty-Three began late in 1996 with the collaborative songwriting efforts of Jim & Alex, using their fondness for harmony and melody as a base for theit lyrical sensibilities, they soon had a repertoire of original material upon which to build a band.
The evolution of the group began when met multistyled drummer Trevor through a mutual friend, Later, while performing at a party for their supper, they hooked up with two-time CFNY music search winner Tod who dug their music and felt that he could add to their sound as a lead guitar player.
As a newly formed quartet, they began playing around Toronto, gathering praise for their rootsy brand of deep pop and their exorbinant bar tabs.
Their debut CD Chinatown received critical praise from a host of media. The single "Rich Happy" translated into a #1 campus fave and the video for it still sees rotation on Much And Much More Music. The band has appeared twice on Open Mike with Mike Bullard, as well as the CBC Morning Show not to mention features on radio (CFNY, MIX, CIZL, CHOM, CBC's Radiosonic etc.)
Currently the guys are working on material for a new CD. The culminative efforts of which have been recorded and are available on an interim limited release entitled "Demos for the eternimatic."
