Recursion:
A function that calls itself as part of the function body. In music it could
be a digitally created echo where the output signal is fed back into the input
source causing the signal to loop. If the feedback signal is equal to the input
signal then it will loop continuously. If the volume of the feedback signal is
greater than the input signal then the amplitude and feedback levels increase to
the point of saturation. This is what happens when your microphone picks up the
sound from your amplifier causing that high pitched squealing sound that we know
all to well.
In my music I use the term to describe the fact that my songs tend to repeat
a rhythm throughout although the melody changes hopefully creating danceable
music that doesn't bore you to tears.
TranceFusion is as the name implies is basically Trance with some fusion
guitar thrown on top. This wasn't the result of some epiphany that I had but
rather the result of trying to use various music software to create music I
could play my guitar over. Finely admitting that these products weren't really
designed for the kind of music I wanted, I started to experiment with the things
they were good at, which is creating techno and electronic music. Technodelic
was my first creation and I liked is so well I went on to do a whole album. The
more I work with this technique the more I like it so I'll probably be putting
more (At least until I'm burned out).
I hope you like it. If you do send me and Email.
If you are a D.J. and want to use any of it feel free, you don't need
my permission (I'd appreciate if you'd give me and my site a mention tho'). I'm
looking into open sourcing my stuff anyway. I don't know if the GNU public
license covers music. I'll have to check it out.
