L O V A D Y A N O
Lova Dyano is an emerging recording artist, producer and composer. His new release, Tout Haitian, features 8 original tracks showing a broad spectrum of talent. The title track, Tout Haitian, features Posse X and is a call to all Haitians to unite in harmony. Hallelujah pou Haiti is a political song that cries of the woes that are currently facing Haiti and Haitian people. Lova Dyano will be releasing Tout Haitian in March 2001. Compositions range from the evocative soundscape of Mwem Damou to the driving uncut extravaganza of No Competition and the calm anticipation of One Woman Man.
Lova Dyano speaks of his music saying My music like Hallelujah pou Haiti is important for Haitian people but this record and my message is for all people and is a call for unity and common good.
Several other emerging artists have guest appearances on the record - Posse X, (Ke'm ap dechire) Gary (from Jhamalah), Jules (from Negnoir Records, Intl), (bass on the entire album) Ray (from Head Nod), (I Love You) Priscilla and (No Competition) Lori Dow (GC Records recording artist). I Love You features Priscilla. All songs were written and produced by Lova Dyano.
Lova Dyano has recently received much acclaim. In live performances, Lova is backed up by a band called The Sounds of the Head Nod (formerly known as the Down Low Connection). The Head Nod was selected as Bostons Best Local Rap/Hip-hop Act for the Boston Phoenixs 1997 Best Music Poll. The Boston Tab selected the Head Nod as Bostons Number One unsigned band of 1996 in its third annual survey of Bostons top 10 unsigned acts. Head Nod was nominated as both Bostons Best Funk Band and Bostons Best Hip-hop Act in 1996 Boston Music Awards. They have performed together throughout the eastern seaboard doubling with The Roots, RunDMC, Salt n Pepa, The Pharcyde, Yellowman, among others.
A roster of 7 jazz, kompa, and hip-hop musicians contribute their unique skills and mesh into one voice, combining the colors of big-band jazz, P-Funkadelic jams, African percussion, hip-hop, kompa, funk, and touches of R&B in measured doses, shaking things up and generously spreading the groove and good vibes throughout.
Lova Dyano is bringing Haitian music to the next level. Lova uses the strength of his international appeal to enlighten, to empower, to uplift not to further destroy.
