Eleven years ago, I moved to L.A. to work in the music and film community and to create a small digital keyboard 'lab'. After the release of my debut CD "Reflections of Green" (available at Amazon.com) and a brief collaboration with Ray Bradbury on a score for "Fahrenheit 451" in 1999 my nights were spent recording imaginary film 'soundtracks' in the dark.
Since I am a visual musician and a former television director, I am able to record senses and translate them into electronic music. My studio is an apartment with a large window overlooking the Pacific Ocean where two synthesizers reside at the heart of my digital studio.

About Reflections of Green
The cycle of Nature, the seasons and memories of Life's changes - all these inspired me to arrange what I hear as music, and as a composer, into the collection "Reflections of Green"
Keyboar di s t and multi- instumentalist Barry Douglas released his debut compact disc "REFLECTIONS OF GREEN" on May 10, 1999. This award-winning composer's music is available now through Halogen Records and Redeye Distribution, by e-mail and at Amazon.com in the new-age/electronic genre.
Reviews
"Like poetry it can soothe and revive t he spirit. Many of the keyboard-centered songs maintain a rush of energy and warmth that is missing from so many new-age albums. -(Ric Munoz)

Reviews
"ASTROMANTIQUE will take you on a discreet listening experience and allow a dynamic range practically unheard of in digital recording. Barry Douglas applies several additive a nd re-synthesis tools, keyboards and "analog" or 'old-school mixing techniques to project the listener into an almost wider than 360 degree sonic environment." (- Halogen Records)
"A GREAT SOUNDTRACK FOR ANY MENTAL OR PHYSICAL EXPLORATION
Very Space uplifting vibe. I felt like I should be watching a documentary film "Arctic Wonders" at an OmniMax theater while listening to this soundtrack. It's very exploratory soundin g mu sic. A lot going on in there as well. Layers upon layers of sounds which at times almost became a little too much - as if it was building up to someting monumental and was going to allow you to hear it. Overall, a very nice composition and production. I'd ha ve to hear this many times in order to catch all of the s ubtle things going on." (Tristen - Cincinnati, Ohio)

Title track from the CD "Reflections of Green". The lush and joyous centerpiece definitely makes an orchestral statement about the artists own style in new age-classical crossover forms. a |
