Introducing: Nancy Lee Conover
Who is this person and what is so unique about her?
Nancy Conover is no rookie when it comes to singing. Her and her sister
provided entertainment for 5-Star Professional Rodeo in 1987. They performed
a variety of music including bluegrass, traditional, pop country and gospel.
Nancy and her sister recorded a demo CD under the name The Lane Sisters.
Nancy and her sister have traveled throughout the state of Florida with 5-Star
singing professionally to thousands of people.
"It was a great time in my life" said Nancy. "I learned a lot about songing
and performing professionally".
So what happened? "It just wasn't our time yet". Nancy says.
"We had different goals in life and that was OK". "We both went our seperate
ways and started our own lives." "The nice thing is that we are still friends;
we both are happy for each other."
Now fourteen years later, Nancy is back, and on her own. Nancy has developed
her own style and stage presence. Her voice? Smooth and deep. Nancy enjoys singing
various types of music. Country, Jazz, Gospel, Ballads, Celtic. (Celtic being her background)
She also enjoys relating to her audience, not just singing to them. " I want the people to
feel my music and relate to it". Nancy says. "I really enjoy meeting and visiting people".
"I want to learn what makes them tick".
Nancy has not only traveled the state singing, but she has performed at Walt Disney World,
The Central Florida Fair, The Orlando Family Expo, for the opening of the Orlando Arena,
Florida Festival, The Belview Biltmore Hotel in Clearwater, Wildhorse Saloon, as well as Light
up Orlando just to name a few. Nancy is currently working with producer Curtis Andrews on a new demo CD.
She is already featured on the latest gospel CD from Ready Records, produced by Curtis!
Nancy Conover is one of many talents! She also was crowned Mrs. Orlando International 2000 by the Florida
Inernational Pageant last March.
She went on to represent Orlando and compete for the title of Mrs. Florida televised from Palm Beach, Fl.
Although Nancy did not secure that particular title, she did walk away with three of the five state titles.
Mrs. Photogenic for the State of Florida, Mrs. Congeniality, and she and her husband Wayne won Most Admired
Couple for the state. Wow!!
Nancy has been very busy making appearances and supporting her favorite charities through her reign.
Nancy is also very involved in education. She works with at-risk high school students in helping them earn
the needed credits so that they may graduate and not drop out of school.
Nancy is a professional modeling graduate and has done TV commercials and is on various websites.
However, if you asked Nancy what was the most rewarding experience she has ever had, she would not
say winning the crown or making appearances. She would tell you without any hesitation..........Russia.
Nancy and Wayne voluntarily moved lock, stock and barrel to Pushkin, whci is in Northern Russia.
They became official residents of the country and lived in a tiny Russian flat for one year, learning the
culture, language and Russian history. They also taught in public schools, TB sanitariums, and orphanages.
"It was the hardest time of my life, yet the most rewarding......I have absolutely no regrets, and I'll do
it all over again in a heartbeat." Nancy says.
That's saying alot, because Nancy became gravely ill unto death after being exposed to terminal radiation.
After a recovery period of almost 2 years, Nancy learned what was most important in life. Now she can express
her innermost emotions through her music and mean every word she sings. "I appreciate everything that comes my
way now." "Every new day is God's gift to me." "He faithfully reminds me that he has a purpose for my life and
I am grateful for his continued blessings".
